Grandstream DP720 is a cordless handset that works with the DP750 base station. The handset communicates with the base station at a range of up to 50 metres indoors and up to 300 metres outdoors, allowing your team to move freely around the office even during a call.
Before starting the setup, please create a SIP account in your Ringostat dashboard.
You can find instructions on creating a SIP account here.
Setting Up the SIP Phone
Before configuring the phone, please make sure it is powered on and that an Ethernet cable is connected to the device. The cable must be plugged into the LAN port of the Grandstream DP750 base station.
Finding the Phone's IP Address
To find the IP address, pick up one of the handsets and press the Menu button, then go to Settings → Registration to start searching for the base station. Then, on the base station, press and hold the button for 15 seconds to put it into pairing mode — hold until the radio signal indicator starts flashing. After a moment, the handset will register with the base station.
Pick up the handset, press the Status button, and use the arrow keys to navigate to the base station's IP address. Enter that address into your browser's address bar.
Configuring the IP Phone
When you enter the IP address in the browser, a login window will appear. The default credentials are:
Login: admin
Password: admin
On some firmware versions, the password is printed on the back of the base station — this is also the password for the handset/base interface.
If no previously registered handsets are found, the fields on the Status tab will be empty.
Under the PROFILE → General Settings tab, enter the SIP server address for the account you are connecting in the SIP Server field: sip.ringostat.com
Go to the DECT tab, click SIP Account Settings, and fill in the fields according to your SIP account details:
SIP User ID — your SIP account login
Authenticate ID — your SIP account login
Password — your SIP account password
Name — your SIP account login
This model supports connecting multiple handsets to a single base station. To do this, leave the Profile field set to "Profile 1", and in the HS Mode field select the appropriate handset — for example, "HS 1".
When done, please click "Save and Apply".
Registering the Handset
Pick up the handset and put it into registration mode — press the Menu button, then go to Settings → Registration. Bring the handset close to the base station and press and hold the base station button to enter registration mode. Hold for 15 seconds until the indicator starts flashing. After a moment, the handset will register with the base station and the SIP account name will appear on the display.
If you are registering multiple handsets one after another — you may need to reboot the base station between registrations.
You can verify that the handset has registered successfully on the Status tab.
When two active registrations are present on the handset, the Settings tab will look as follows:
Setup is now complete. Please make sure to test both inbound and outbound calls by making a few test calls. ;)
