Zoiper is a program for making calls over the Internet. It is a cross-platform app, which makes it a good softphone to be used on different devices.
ZoiPer has free and premium versions (costs 9.99 USD/year or 0.99 USD/month).
Disadvantages of the free version:
no possibility to transfer calls between employees
the app doesn't have push notifications, so you need to make sure it's turned on to receive calls properly.
However, if you purchase the premium features (Combo pack), the app will have push notifications and will allow you to transfer calls.
The app has a 7-day trial period for premium features.
Before installing the app — go and create the SIP account for your agent.
Once you install the application on your computer, configure your Zoiper software settings in a few steps.
Open the app on your smartphone and click the "Agree & Continue" button.
Choose the pack you want to use or skip the trial page. We recommend you to use Combo Pack option. This premium feature will allow you to receive calls even if the app is turned off, as it activates push notifications.
After that you will be sent to the next step. Click the "Providers list" button.
Then click the "Next" button to see the list of providers.
In the list, choose Ukraine => Ringostat.
Click the "Sign up" button.
You will see the pop-up window for entering your credentials for the SIP account from Ringostat. You can receive them from the manager of Ringostat or set up one yourself.
Once you register — allow Zoiper to make and manage phone calls on your smartphone.
Setup the background settings:
Choose the "Battery saver" mode.
Turn on the "Do Not Disturb Access" mode.
If you need to change the protocol, go to "Network settings".
And click "Transport Type" to change it.
After setting up your account, you can use the app for making and receiving calls.
Note 1: Zoiper adds contacts from your smartphone to its contact list.
When using the app, we have noticed some inconvenience with this. In your smartphone, you can add numbers to your contacts in a shorneted format, for example, 666-33-22. However, in order to make a phone call throught the virtual PBX SIP-account is connected to, you will need to dial international number, like 38(044)666-33-22.
Note 2: If you enter invalid or incorrect credentials of your SIP-account, Zoiper will allow to create an account but with the Registration failed (408) error:
In order to edit the credentials, you should go to Settings - Accounts, choose your account and check the credentials:
If the credentials are correct, the account status will be Account is ready.
